2014: Year in Review

*** Another great year at Moonlight Vizslas! ***

In 2014, we were honored to have our foundation dam “Csilla” CH Tamaron Okos Piros Csillag, CD RN JH CGC ROM* earn her Registry of Merit (ROM) which is awarded by the VCA (Vizsla Club of America). The VCA awards a Registry of Merit (ROM) Certificate to those Vizslas whose offspring reflect the breed’s character and purpose, as evidenced by their titles achieved.  THANK YOU to each of the owners who put forth the effort to let their pups shine. Csilla’s qualifying progeny include:

• BISS GCH Moonlight’s Old Time Rock’n Roll, JH CGC “Seger”- Best in Specialty Show Winning
• GCH Moonlight’s Rock’n In the Free World “Indy” – Championship in 4 weekends (3 Majors) from the Bred By Class
• CH Moonlight The Sky’s The Limit, RN JH CGC “Landon” – Group Placing, 2x’s GCH Major Pointed
• CH Moonlight’s Rock’n Ow’t, JH CGC “Zene” – 2x’s Best Puppy in Sweeps Winner, 2x’s GCH Major Pointed
• GCH Moonlight ‘n Tamaron When Stars Align, CGC “Lyra” – Championship with 4 Majors from Bred By Class, and GCH with 5 Majors

While titles and achievements are always exciting, at the end of the day, I am MOST proud of the faultless temperament she has passed onto her “kids”. Well done, Miss Csilla! WE LOVE YOU!

In 2014, the pups were shown sparingly in Conformation (Show) but still had nice wins, including a Specialty Show Best of Winners/Winners Dog and Winners Bitch, Multiple Best Bred By Exhibitor and Multiple Bred By Group Placements (two Group Firsts), a Grand Sweepstakes Winner/Best Junior Puppy and Best of Opposite to Best Puppy in Sweepstakes; and, “Lyra” became a Champion and a Grand Champion in short order.

“Lyra” got things started in January pulling off a “hat trick” with three Major wins in three states (CA, AZ and CO) and completed her Championship title with back-to-back 4 pt Majors (four Majors total) from the Bred By Exhibitor Class.  As a new Champion, she picked up two Specialty Show Award of Merits (owner handled) at the South Coast Vizsla Club and Vizsla Club of Southern CA Supported Entry.  Shen then took a tour to Texas where she won three Best of Breeds (including two 5 pt GCH Majors) to finish her Grand Championship over three weekends. Way to go Lyra!

“Zene” became a mother (2014 Litter: True Love Litter) as we welcomed five handsome BOYZ in September.  Her progeny, shown sparingly, had several nice wins; “Cordie” earned a Reserve Winners Bitch (to the Major) at 6 months and 5 days old; brother “Oliver” earns his first show points in Long Beach (Winners Dog/Best of Winners) and their 1/2 brother “Lenny” wins a huge Best of Winners/Best Bred By and 5 Point Major at the prestigious VCNC Specialty Show (Woofstock). “Lenny” and “Oliver” also picked up Reserve Winners (to Majors) at two different Specialties/Supported entries.

“Landon” finished his Rally Novice (RN) title at the Vizsla Club of America Nationals with a First Place!

Thank you to our extended family of fabulous owners who have contributed to this year’s successes; we look forward to another great year in 2015!
